Individual & Group Counseling
Emerging Adulthood
The period between the ages of 18 and 25 can be filled with anxiety and confusion. You have so many choices and directions you can take and feel that so much is expected of you, yet very little about the future is decided. (Psychology professor Jeffrey Jensen Arnett). Society today moves so quickly, and technology keeps our brains in constant motion. You may be feeling stuck or overwhelmed not knowing what your next step should be. You may be asking yourself:
- What is my purpose in life? Should I be doing more?
- Am I not working hard enough? Letting myself or parents down?
- What career is for me? How do I even know?
- I feel like I am falling behind – Shouldn’t I know my path?
- Do I want a significant other? Dating can be so complicated.
- Recognizing your family may not have been as stable as you once imagined
Let me help you figure out your unique path and how to achieve the happiness you deserve without the increased stress and anxiety you might be feeling. Let’s start with the basics – SMART. These are goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-limited. We will work together to decide what goals are most important and the steps you take to reduce your anxiety, stress and depression. The choices are yours and the work is hard, but you deserve to be happy and free of overload and getting to the place where you embrace “I am enough”.
